Blackburn boss Steve Kean has insisted that defender Chris Samba will stay at the club.

Samba was linked with a move to several English clubs, including Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United. French side Paris St Germain also confirmed interest in the player.

However, Blackburn manager is confident that Samba will stay at the club and will include him in the first-team against Newcastle on 1st February.

“If Chris is going to move, it’s not going to be in this window.” said Kean.

“It wasn’t a case of trying to get teams bidding against each other to get a figure up, we’d just like to keep him, it’s as simple as that.
